Patient Testimonials

A man in a business suit speaking to a woman at a meeting in a bright office.

“Dr. Cho is an outstanding surgeon. He changed our son's life. We are forever grateful to Dr. Cho and his fabulous team. Dr. Cho is extremely knowledgeable in all pediatric ortho and not only did he go above and beyond his surgical duty, he made us—very nervous/anxious patients—feel at ease.
I cannot rave enough about Dr. Cho!”

“Our family has relied on Dr. Cho for 12 years, and his expertise is simply unmatched. We traveled 800 miles round trip each appointment because his bedside manner and understanding of complex pediatric orthopedics are world-class. He was always respectful, directly addressing our concerns while remaining incredibly kind. His passion for his field, evident in both his patient care and teaching, made him an invaluable part of our journey. In fact, with our daughter’s ongoing medical complexities, Dr. Cho has become the definitive benchmark; every new doctor we work with is compared to, and must meet, his exemplary standards. Oh, and if your music taste needs some help, he definitely has you covered. Dr. Cho is truly exceptional and has become a dear friend.”

“My son was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis when he was six years old during a routine checkup with his pediatrician. He is now 13 years old.

I remember the first few years of his treatment were very difficult and frustrating for my son, until we started seeing Dr. Robert Cho.

At the time, Dr. Cho was working at the Shriner's Children Hospital in Pasadena and he came highly recommended by many of the doctors that I had spoken with.

Right from the beginning, my son and I really liked seeing Dr. Cho because he genuinely cared about my son and provided us with great advice. Dr. Cho always spent as much time as was needed to look at my son's scans and to explain any good or bad changes that were seen. We never felt like he was rushed or too busy to provide anything we needed.

Dr. Cho did an excellent job of communicating all possible treatment protocols, including the very real possibility that my son would one day need surgical intervention. Although we all hoped that my son's curvature would not get worse, Dr. Cho was very honest from the very beginning of my son's relationship with him.

Around June of 2025, I received a message from the Shriner's Hospital that Dr. Cho was now in private practice, so I reached out to his new office to schedule the next appointment. Even if Dr. Cho would have moved to a different area of the country, we would have traveled to see him, but lucky for us, Dr. Cho kept his practice here in the Los Angeles area.

When we saw Dr. Cho in July of 2025, my son's curvature had gotten to the point that Dr. Cho recommended Anterior Vertebral Body Tethering to help fix the scoliosis.

I remember this appointment very well, because even though I had a feeling the curvature had gotten much worse, we always hoped that things would be ok and we would not have to worry about a surgery for another six months.

Dr. Cho did an amazing job at not only explaining the surgery to me, but more importantly, making sure my son felt the confidence that this was the right course of action.

Not only is Dr. Cho a world class surgeon, but he is one of the most approachable and nice persons you could ever meet.

Some surgeons are good in the OR but have a horrible bedside manner, others have a good bedside manner but are just ok surgeons. Dr. Cho is both and that is special.

In the weeks leading up to the surgery, Dr. Cho kept my son and I in the loop about every aspect of the surgery. He was always available to us if we had any questions.

On the date of the surgery, my son was very nervous until Dr. Cho arrived in the pre-op room. Dr. Cho did an amazing job of putting my 13 year old son at ease, and then did an amazing job during the 6 hour plus VBT surgery.

After the surgery, my son had eight brand new titanium screws in his spine along with a tether, but he was up walking before 8 pm. My son was released from the hospital the very next. After just a few days of laying low, my son was walking around the neighborhood and doing his Lego sets.

Before, during and after the surgery, Dr. Cho was always there for my son and our family. My son will always have scoliosis, but with Dr. Cho's expert skill, knowledge, and expertise, my son is already back to playing the sports he loves and SCUBA diving.

I could not recommend Dr. Cho enough if your child is diagnosed with scoliosis. I wish we would have met Dr. Cho from the very beginning, but I am so grateful that he was available to treat my son and guide our family through what sometimes seems like an impossible maze of scoliosis decisions.”

“We have been incredibly grateful to Dr. Bob Cho for over five years of exceptional care and support for our son, Cassius, who began seeing him at age 9 as an aspiring young athlete. Cassius experienced several devastating injuries that significantly impacted his ability to participate in sports and challenged his confidence.

Throughout this journey, Dr. Cho’s expertise, compassionate bedside manner, and genuine care have made an immeasurable difference. He has not only provided top-notch physical treatment, helping Cassius heal stronger than before, but also offered vital emotional and mental support that a young boy desperately needs during such traumatic times.

What truly sets Dr. Cho apart is his ability to connect with Cassius at every stage of his development—not just as an athlete—but as a young man navigating challenges and growth. His kindness, patience, and dedication have helped Cassius regain not only his physical strength but also his love for sports and confidence in himself.

We cannot thank Dr. Cho enough for his outstanding care, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of a compassionate, expert orthopedic specialist and surgeon.”
